When formulating our face masks, we use materials that are created by nature. In choosing the main ingredient for our GREEN GODDESS face mask, the bright green color of Organic Spirulina algae was just too gorgeous to say no to!
Spirulina is a type of cyanobacteria, a family of single-celled microbes that are often referred to as blue-green algae. These cyanobacteria are the building blocks of photosynthesis.
The Ancient Aztecs knew the numerous benefits of this blue-green algae, and consumed this superfood regularly. Fun fact: Spirulina was referred to as 'Aztec Cheese'.
Spirulina has anti-inflammatory compounds that fight acne, reduce swelling, and help to prevent future breakouts. Spirulina is full of antioxidants and combats free radicals, helping to assist your skin in preventing damage which can lead to aging.
